Every day presents something new. Every day presents a choice for change. Everyone has the ability to bring about that chance for change, not only for themselves, but others. Since 2004, it has been the goal for the Children Deserve a Chance Foundation to enrich and nurture the development of children in all areas; giving them new, stable and evolving chances. With over $15,000 brought in during 2007 there are several different beneficiaries of the Foundation. The Children Deserve a Chance Foundation continues to financially support the Epilepsy Foundation. Another area in which funds are utilized is to bring motivational speakers to local Junior and Senior High School assemblies. Also, this year the Foundation is providing three $1,000 scholarships to chosen high school seniors to help aid them in all the expenses that college brings. Our main focus is to create a developmental youth center in Lancaster city where vulnerable children can receive much needed help and guidance in their life journeys. New Image Youth Center and it's director Shantae Stubbs have been very inspirational in demonstrating how one person can make an enormous difference in a community, and help to change the lives of young people. Local children can come for help with schoolwork while others may need a secure environment where they can feel safe to play and interact with other children. Regardless of the reason for them coming, we want to provide the vital tools necessary in order to live a productive and prosperous life.
